ENGLISH AT FRANKLIN CLASSICAL SCHOOL
Franklin Classical School submits to God as the Author of all truth and affirms that He is the standard for all communication. Because we are created in the image of God, we are stewards of the weighty responsibility to use words and the tools of language with wisdom and discernment (John 1:1; Proverbs 18:21).
Because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom, genuine knowledge of any subject begins with reverence and submission to God (Proverbs 2:6). Because we live in covenant, we deliberately and intentionally transfer this way of life to successive generations, teaching them to think biblically, maturely, and thoroughly that they may be transformed by the renewing of their minds (Deuteronomy 6:1-7; Psalm 78:1-8; Romans 12:2). We employ the time-proven method of the Trivium and draw upon the canon of Western literature while integrating with the study of Humanities. We seek to inspire and develop an uplifted vision that incorporates biblically-based ideals and virtues as well as chivalric heroism and nobility.
Our goal is to live as humble servants, exhibiting sound judgment and discernment, and articulating eloquently and persuasively in spoken word and written media (Psalm 45:1; Micah 6:8). We trust that as a result we will continue to discover the unfathomable riches of the Lord and increasingly enjoy the rewards of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom (Romans 11:33; 1 Corinthians 1:18-31).
