The mission of Franklin Classical School is to provide a biblically infused education that is both academically excellent and spiritually vital to equip covenantal young men and women to know and serve the Lord Jesus Christ and to transform families, institutions, and nations for the glory of God.

The three-fold vision of Franklin Classical is to:

1) Raise up the next generation of Christian cultural and spiritual leaders;

2) Model a biblical pattern of discipleship through parent-directed, covenantal, and classical education;

3) Lay foundations for economic and biblical justice, artistic excellence, intellectual achievement, worldview discernment, physical health, and evangelistic passion so that each student may ultimately attain their high calling and realize their destiny. Therefore the curriculum is both college preparatory and missions preparatory; it is both academically accelerated and socially responsive; it is both community oriented and globally minded.

Classical Curriculum

Using a classical model, FCS provides students with an academically rigorous, college preparatory education that focuses on more than just the facts. By engaging with Scripture, history, and the great works of Western civilization, students become lifelong learners who think deeply, speak eloquently, and live faithfully.

Technology Free Classrooms

Franklin Classical School will always be technology-free. In Grammar School (K-5) and 6^th grade, students will never use iPads or Tablets in the classroom. In 7-12, technology use will be infrequent and only as directed by a teacher for specific coursework.

Parent Involvement

At Franklin Classical School, we believe that parents are biblically responsible for their child’s education and family engagement is central to our culture. Walking the halls of FCS, you will almost always see multiple parents serving our teachers, our students, and our school. In joining the FCS community, every parent is invited to bring their unique talents and gifts to support our work. Whether volunteering as a room parent, lunch helper, or library volunteer, serving on the PTO, or using your talents to contribute to the FCS community in a broader way, the opportunities to get involved are endless.

Flexible Schedule

While our Grammar School (K-5) and 6^th grade meet 5 days per week, parents have the choice on Mondays to either enroll their children in optional, on-campus enrichment opportunities or to pursue their own educational goals at home. Grades 7-12 follows a collegiate model that allows parents to either build a full schedule of coursework or to choose a hybrid option that allows students to enroll in college courses or have some subjects taught at home.

Community Building

At FCS, comradery is intentionally fostered between students of all grade-levels through our community events and school-wide traditions. Kindergarteners are assigned 6^th grade reading buddies, older students volunteer as helpers in classrooms and PE for the younger grades, and our Lower and Upper Division students lead flag football and dance clinics for our Grammar students during our homecoming celebration.

At its heart, Classical Christian education seeks to cultivate a love for the transcendentals: Beauty, Goodness, and Truth, guiding students to recognize God’s hand in every subject and to pursue wisdom and virtue. By engaging with Scripture, history, and the great works of Western civilization, students become lifelong learners who think deeply, speak eloquently, and live faithfully.

Statement of Faith

We subscribe to the great historic creeds and confessions – including the Nicene, the Apostles, and the Athanasian – as they have been elaborated through the ages by the called synods of the church from the Ecumenical Councils to the Westminster Assembly. To carefully establish the parameters of doctrinal teaching at Franklin Classical School and to maintain our non-denominational status, we will adhere to the standards of historic orthodoxy in all essential but to biblical diversity in all peripherals.
